On October 21, at the Hammonton Middle school the annual Halloween dance took place. This was only the second dance the school had in three years because of the pandemic and issues with Covid-19. The first was held earlier this year.

After speaking with both students and teachers, we heard some opinions on this year’s dance. The sixth grader said that she believed, “The first dance was better organized, and better overall.” She also said, “They could have behaved better, but I still think it was fun. It [the costume contest] could have been better organized. I didn’t hear them list the people who won, or when the competition started.”

The teacher we interviewed had a similar point of view towards the dance. She stated, “The costumes were the problem, with the masks and weapons. There was only one fight that I heard about, which is much better than the first. I think that they shouldn’t allow water bottles at the dance at all, there were way too many spills and trash at the end of it all.”

The dance was fun, but there are some things to improve on before the next. Thankfully, this year it looks like there were be more dances to come!
