Rocket Launched into Comet

Alyson Healy, Staff Writer

Are you interested in space and space travel? Well, if you are, then here’s a story for you!

The Rosetta rocket, launched by the European space station, landed on Comet 679/Churyumov- Gerasimenko on November 12th, 2014, after 10 years in orbit around the comet. The rocket carried a smaller probe called Philae, which was the one that landed on the rocket. Comet 679/Churyumov-Gerasimenko landed on the icy comet’s surface, “successfully”. Even though there were a few “flaws”, this great achivement should not go unnoticed, and is undoubltly a most impressive feat.
