HMS Drama Fall Cabaret

Cassandra Pichardo, Staff Writer

November 22, 2019 was the day of the Drama Club’s first cabaret. It was led by Ms. Cochran, HMS music and choir teacher. In total, there were 21 acts which included about 30 people. Including announcers and stage crew, there was a total of about 40 people participating in the set-up, and running of the cabaret.

Of those performers, about 15 people sang; some were duets, and others were group performances. In addition to singing, there were 2 dancing acts: one a TikTok dance mash-up and the other a Bring It On dance composed by the dancers themselves with the help of an older sibling.  A monologue, called “The Phone Call”, by a talented girl was amazing and the mash-up of the songs “You Say” by Lauren Daigle and “Secrets” by OneRepublic was so synchronized by vocalists Layla Palmore and Angelina DeStefano that they made it sound even more soothing and amazing. The Cabaret was an amazing show and a great hit for the audience. We hope to hear about it next year, too!
