Here at HMS, there are a ton of Academies that students can get involved with. One of these is Robotics. Once a week, on Tuesday, these students meet in Room E8 to work on the computers with an app called “Mind Storm”.  Students work in pairs to create a robot of their own design. “It’s better with two brains,” commented one of the students. These middle schoolers even do their own computer programming. It takes about five weeks in all to complete the project, but that doesn’t include the extra time the students put in on the computer to find a perfect way to program the robot exactly as they want. All members described the Academy as fun and that you definitely need the skills and interest to get be able to work on your robot. After they are done with the programming, each robot will complete a course to see if their robot . These students are able to create five different robots types or styles.
